“IN WHITE” by Dania Bdeir won an award for “Best International Short Film” at the Milan International Film Festival Awards

“In White” is a short film starring Roula Hamadeh, Maria Achkar and Benjamin Zusman and co-produced by production company Ginger Beirut Productions (which is behind Lebanese feature films such as Nadine Labaki’s Caramel and Where do we go Now and Ziad Doueiry’s The Insult).
“In White” had its world premiere at the 2017 Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, the largest film festival in France in terms of audience and professional attendance, boasting over 100,000 attendees annually and renowned as one of the best and largest short film festivals in the world.
The award-winning short film was also in the official selection in Gibara International Film Festival (Cuba) and was honored as the opening film at the Tripoli International Film Festival (Lebanon).
“In White” proved to be promising even before it was shot. In fact, the script was personally selected by Spike Lee to win the Spike Lee production grant in New York City.

MIFF (from English acronym for Milan International Film Festival), nicknamed by the press as the « Milanese Sundance », has been recognized and distinguished as the official International Cinema exhibition festival of Milan. MIFF existed as a conventional film festival for 10 years, until 2010, when with the tenth edition MIFF reinvented itself as MIFF Awards, a brand new genre in the sphere of film events that featured an avant-garde format developed through an unwavering commitment to support Cinema culture.
Organized by the non-profit Italian cultural association Leonardo Da Vinci Film Society (LDVFS), MIFF Awards merge a traditional film festival format to selection criteria initiated by AMPAS, nowadays known as the Oscar. Each year, LDVFS selects an eclectic pool of exceptional independent films from all over the world and exhibits the winning films during its showcases in Milan and often bring them touring in other locations.
